About
Ava M.
Ava is a New York City based actor, singer, dancer, and performer.
She holds a BFA in Theater with a minor in Producing from New York University’s Tisch School of The Arts, where she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and The Classical Studio.
Originally from Pueblo, Colorado, Ava grew up with a love for the arts. She began ballet at age 2, and started musical theatre at age 10. It was then that she knew that theatre would be her life long love. Throughout middle and high school, she trained in acting, voice, and multiple dance styles. This gave her the opportunity to act in many shows, begin teaching, and to direct and choreograph for multiple shows locally.
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, Ava took a year off school to return home and help develop and produce covid safe theater. She took on an instrumental role within her local theater’s board and helped to build an outdoor theater that complied with social distancing. She also helped with the creation of drive-in shows, where patrons would sit in their cars and tune in to an outdoor performance on the radio. During this, she also returned to teaching music, dance, and acting, and had a private voice studio of over 20 students.
Upon moving to New York, she began working right away on projects at school as well as performing at Carowinds Theme Park, and originating an Off-Broadway show. After graduation, she went on her first national tour, and has recently retuned to the city after a second.
While in school, Ava developed a love for Shakespeare and classical work. This love lead her to The Classical Studio at NYU, where she spent the year in a company of 14 actors devising and acting in a production of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. This work prepared her well for life after college, giving her an understanding of what it takes to create and maintain a show.
In her free time, Ava loves to read, walk in Central Park, cook, and play with her cat, Ophelia.
